| Isabella is an artist who is from the Orange County - Los Angeles area. She is originally from the Chicago area. The artist attended Columbia College Chicago for two years and studied painting and photography. The artist moved to Orange County in 2000 where the artist finished her undergrad at Chapman University in Orange, California. The artist received a BFA in Art in August 2008 and almost finished a BA in Art History. The artist is also interested in architecture. In her senior show, the artist used images from magazines to make cartoons by tracing them and filling the shapes with color. The cartoons and dialogue depicted wealthy people who had superficial and fake lifestyles. The settings portrayed Miami architecture, but it was pointed out to the artsis that it reflected normal Orange County societal life. All the frames and posters in the show happened on one Saturday afternoon. Hence, "Saturday Afternoon" became the title. This is under the comics button. The artist has also made quilts, taken a countless photographs and made numerous printmaking editions during her time in college. On a fashion note, the artist learned how to paint oil paint on jeans and has plans to market her idea once the economy improves. The paintings that are displayed on the website were painted at different times and are not related in subject matter yet they are related by bright, vibrant color. The colors and shapes come from within her and do not reflect her inner world. |
